This Privacy Policy explains what information BingeTrackr ("we", "us") collects when you use the BingeTrackr mobile app, and how we use, store, and protect it. BingeTrackr is operated by Gregory Courtens, based in Belgium, contactable at courtens.g@gmail.com.
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a verified identity token and create an account containing: a username (handle) and display name, which authentication provider you used, and an internal identifier tied to that provider — never your Apple/Google password. We do not implement email/password sign-in.
Watch history and ratings (1–5 stars), your watchlist and favorites, custom lists, and any comments you post on a show or movie (including whether you tagged a comment as containing spoilers). Comments are visible to other users per the visibility rules described below.
Who you follow and who follows you, and who you've blocked. If your account is set to private, your activity and stats are only visible to accounts you've approved by nature of them following you (see the app's Privacy setting).
If you choose to import a GDPR data export from TV Time, we read only the specific files needed to reconstruct your watch history, ratings, follows, lists, and favorites. We deliberately do not read or store other files in that export that may contain credentials or network/device identifiers (e.g. access tokens, IP address logs) — those are discarded unread. Importing is entirely optional and initiated by you.
Standard server request metadata (e.g. IP address) is processed transiently for security purposes such as rate-limiting abusive requests, and is not stored long-term or linked to your viewing activity.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising networks.
Your comments are visible to other users of the app, subject to your account's privacy setting and to any blocks you or the other person have put in place — a block hides content in both directions. Your stats and watch activity are visible to other users only if your account is public, or if it's private and they follow you.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account and everything associated with it — watch history, ratings, lists, comments, follows/followers, and reports — with no recovery period. We do not retain a copy after deletion, other than what we're legally required to keep (if anything — currently none).
Your data is stored on servers located in the United States (Oregon). Since BingeTrackr is operated from Belgium and has users in the European Economic Area, this means personal data is transferred outside the EEA. [Confirm with your hosting provider (Render) that their Data Processing Addendum provides Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard for this transfer, and reference the specific mechanism here once confirmed.]
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (or your local law) to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise the deletion right directly in the app (see above); for anything else, contact us at courtens.g@gmail.com. As the operator is established in Belgium (an EU member state), no separate Article 27 EU representative is required. [If you have users in the United Kingdom specifically, UK GDPR may separately require naming a UK representative — confirm with counsel.]
BingeTrackr carries a 12+ / Teen age rating on the app stores, reflecting its user-generated comments and mature-title coverage. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region, if higher), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and, for material changes, notify you in-app.
